2019 Single Vineyard "S2 Block" Shiraz (dozen)
Our S2 vineyard soils are complex and made up of a very thin top soil layer which sits over the Blanche Point limestone. The Blanche Point formation is a piece of limestone that broke off from the Maslin beach area and was deposited to the North east in the McLaren vale subregion called Beautiful View. The soil is rich and dense, tight and doesn’t give much up to the vines. As it dries out large cracks appear exposing the limestone rock. The vines work hard to extract minerals and moisture from the limestone.
